So its been a while since my last post, but here I am.
Not too much has been going on. As I mentioned in my last post I picked up my dress back in March. Its so horrible and fantastic that I have it in my house. I love having it and I look at it almost everyday. I hate that I have it and look at it everyday and want to wear it! But its so beautiful. I really cannot wait for my wedding day.
In other news....
Back in April I get a FB message from our DJ. She informed my that she will no longer being working our wedding. I asked her why, but she wouldn't tell me. So I'm assuming she got let go and is very angry with them. But I have yet to hear from the actual company. Which is really starting to piss me off. We still have to go and meet with them to talk about the music selection, and I know that when we do they are going to drop it on us. It sucks because this girl was the reason why we picked the company that we did. Yes, I realize that we won't be having to search for a new company (especially since there's pretty much no chance for us to find a new one at a decent price), but still... I guess right now, that's been the only bump in the road. And if that's all we hit then I should be happy.
May 12th was our "Negative 1 year anniversary" as Jay liked to call it. It was a very good day. We started off by going to Wonderland to see about doing our wedding pictures there and all the technicalities (and there's a rant that will be coming up shortly). After Wonderland we went to the Monte Carlo Hotel to look around and reserve rooms for all of our guest. Right now we have reserved 40, but we are still going to be looking at other hotels. Shortly after that we went to see The Lion King on stage. It was really good. And Jay really enjoyed it too.
So back to the Wonderland thing. The next day a woman from the Marketing department called me back. She told me that we can take the pictures no problem whatsoever without having to worry about permits or red tape. Sounds too good to be true....well of course there's a catch! Why wouldn't there be one? In order for us to do this, we have to pay the admission price of a regular ticket per person involved. REGULAR admission. In order to go to Wonderland for a day it costs almost $60 a person! (And that's 2011 prices). So we have 14 people in the wedding party, plus our ring barer and flower girl and our two photographers. And it gets even better. The woman I spoke to, said that they can include a guide to take us to different areas (behind the scenes) and things like that. Wanna know for how long? 2 hours. That's it. Granted, we wouldn't be staying any longer then that, but that's not the point. So freaking Wonderland wants $60 a person for 2 hours in the park. Now Jay and I have to revisit this plan and work out our options. Which sucks, I mean Wonderland has a lot of meaning to Jay and I, and its really important. Jay says to leave it with him, and he'd figure it out, but really what can he do? If this is their policy, we can't change it. Right?
Decisions, decisions. Anyway 348 days to go!
